Northwest Permanente is seeking a strategic, creative Director of Talent Acquisition to lead our end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning functions. In this key leadership role, you will design and execute sophisticated hiring strategies that align with our clinical growth, operational priorities, and long-term workforce needs.
As the functional leader for Talent Acquisition, you will champion modern recruitment standards, build robust academic and professional pipelines, and lead a high-performing, multi-level team dedicated to securing top-tier medical and administrative talent.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Workforce Planning
- Drive Recruitment Strategy: Design, measure, and execute Northwest Permanente’s full-cycle recruiting operations for both clinical (physicians and locum tenens) and administrative staff.
- Long-Range Planning: Partner with HR leadership to architect long-term physician workforce strategies, anticipating future talent needs and mitigating potential critical shortages.
- Employer Branding & Sourcing: Collaborate with internal communications to elevate Northwest Permanente’s employer brand and implement data-driven sourcing strategies.
- Pipeline Development: Build and nurture strategic relationships with medical schools, residency programs (GME), and professional organizations to build diverse talent pipelines.
Operations & Team Management
- Team Leadership: Mentor, develop, and lead a multi-level Talent Acquisition team (including recruiters, coordinators, and people leaders), fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Onboarding Excellence: Oversee the enterprise onboarding strategy and New Employee Orientation (NEO) to ensure a seamless, high-quality transition for all new hires.
- Budget & Vendor Management: Manage the Talent Acquisition operating budget and oversee external relationships with temporary, contingency, and retained search firms.
- Data-Driven Execution: Leverage recruitment metrics, analytics, and applicant tracking systems (ATS) to identify workforce gaps, optimize processes, and report trends to executive leadership.
Compliance & Governance
- Regulatory Oversight: Ensure all hiring practices comply with local, state, and federal employment laws, organizational policies, and EEO/AA/immigration guidelines.
- Audit Readiness: Maintain constant organizational readiness for audits and regulatory reviews related to recruitment and onboarding.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a closely related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
o Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive talent acquisition experience.
o Minimum of five (5) years of direct people management experience.
- Technical & Legal Expertise: Deep knowledge of federal/state employment laws, large-employer regulatory compliance, and modern ATS platforms. Proficient in MS Office.
- Leadership & Influence: Exceptional executive presence, communication, and relationship-building skills with a proven track record of collaborating with Executive Leadership, Board Members, and Department Chiefs.
- Analytical Skills: A data-driven mindset with experience using talent acquisition analytics to guide strategic outcomes and deliver training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in HR, MBA, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Eight (8) years of dedicated experience in physician recruitment.
- Five (5) years of leadership experience within a healthcare organization.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
