We are a 17 pathologist group with 5 PA’s and 3 PhD’s located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Our practice is high volume and fast paced. In 2017, we signed out approximately 60,000 surgicals (approximately 20-25% are comprised of skin biopsies and excisions), 7,000 Pap smears, 5,600 non-gynecologic cytologies, and approximately 600 bone marrows. Our group is part of Northwest Permanente P.C., a large multidisciplinary medical group with over 1200 physicians who enjoy working with a comprehensive network of supportive staff and an up-to-date, hardworking team of colleagues across different specialties. We share the common belief of delivering affordable, high quality integrated health care service to close to 600,000 members throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Qualified applicants will be dermatopathology fellowship trained with strong general surgical pathology skills, AP/CP board-certified, dermatopathology board certified/eligible, and expected to stay current and possess high diagnostic integrity in surgical pathology with an understanding of applicable molecular techniques. Prior practice experience is desired but not required.
Service responsibilities include signing out general surgical specimens with an emphasis on dermatopathology, interpreting intraoperative frozen sections, rapid onsite cytology evaluations, presenting at dermatopathology related specialty tumor boards, serving as CLIA director for various clinical laboratories, providing intradepartmental consultation, continuing education and covering call.
We are excited to invite applicants who meet the qualifications listed above to work with the other dermatopathologist in the group. Furthermore, we look forward to strengthening our team by adding a member who will bring us the innovative energy, collaborative spirit and academic rigor to collectively grow and thrive.
