Northwest Permanente, P.C. is currently seeking a Board Certified or Eligible Pediatrician physician to join our medical group at the Beaverton Medical Office in Beaverton, Oregon. The position involves cross coverage for both acute and routine ambulatory health care needs, as well as dedicating a portion of FTE to either inpatient ward or nursery rounding.
The Beaverton Medical Office is NEW and uses technology to advance the patient care experience and re-imagine the ambulatory visit. We will be opening our doors in December 2018. Located in a close-in suburb of Portland, our new colleague will enjoy the amenities of the new building coupled with the experience of an already intact team of 7 pediatricians. Onsite support is available from a mental health counselor, optometrists, and a lactation team. The clinic has a pharmacy, imaging and lab within the building.
Inpatient ward rounding is for Kaiser Permanente pediatric patients admitted at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital at Oregon Health and Sciences University. Clinic hours are spread over 4 days per week with office visits and virtual care portions. Inpatient work includes 3 weeks per year on general pediatric medicine ward service, 1-2-night shifts per month and back up call. This role includes teaching OHSU pediatric and family residents as well as medical students. Infrastructure support includes direct access to a broad range of pediatric subspecialists, an in-house 24-7 Pediatric ICU Attending, dedicated pediatric emergency room staff, and Child Life. Clinic patients are covered by the Sunset Pediatric team in entirety during the weeks on hospital service.
Nursery rounding takes place at both Kaiser Sunnyside and Westside Medical Center in our Level 1 nurseries. Scope of practice includes newborn admissions, newborn discharges, and attendance at deliveries at Westside Medical Center. PALS and NRP required. Simulation labs and resuscitation training provided. NICU telehealth consultations available 24/7. Circumcision experience desired but not required. Typical schedule would be one full weekend of daytime rounding per month plus one overnight in house call per month. Holiday call is shared among the nursery group.
