Northwest Permanente, P.C. is currently seeking a Board Certified or Eligible pediatrician physician to join our medical group at the Rockwood Office in Portland, Oregon. The position includes both paneling pediatric patients and cross coverage of other providers patients as well as dedicating a portion of FTE to care for Kaiser pediatric patients at Doernbechers Children Hospital.
Our new colleague will join a team of 6 other pediatricians and will receive onsite support from mental health counselors, a dedicated case worker, navigators, optometrists, and a lactation team. The clinic also has a pharmacy, imaging and lab within the building. The Rockwood clinic serves a diverse patient population including a large portion of underserved children in addition to the Kaiser HMO members.
Kaiser Permanente pediatric patients are hospitalized for acute care needs at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital part of Oregon Health and Sciences University. Inpatient responsibilities include 3 weeks per year attending on the general pediatric medicine ward service and 1-2 in house night call shifts per month. Home back up call and holiday obligations are shared among the hospitalist group. This role allows for teaching of OHSU pediatric and family residents as well as medical students. Infrastructure support includes direct access to a broad range of pediatric subspecialists, in-house 24-7 Pediatric ICU Attending, dedicated pediatric emergency room staff, and Child Life services. Clinic patients are covered by the clinic team in entirety during the weeks on hospital service. This dual role gives clinicians excellent breadth and depth in their clinical practice.
